Dr. Ermarth is an Associate Professor in Pediatrics working within the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology. She practices general gastroenterology and endoscopy for pediatric patients at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. A native Texan, Dr. Ermarth completed her pediatrics residency, fellowship and Master’s of Science in clinical investigation here at University of Utah and Primary Children’s Hospital. She is the Medical Director of Primary Children’s Hospital Feeding & Swallowing Center, and directs the Home Enteral Feeding Transitions (HEFT) clinic for NICU babies with feeding difficulties. She is also a provider in the Pediatric Clinical Nutrition Clinic (PCNC) which gives comprehensive nutrition care to all ages of children with growth or specialized nutrition needs. She sees patients within general gastroenterology and trained in the University’s Teen Mom clinic in residency where she provided adolescent-focused care. She believes in understanding all medical, environmental and psychosocial elements of a patient that may contribute to patient symptoms or decreased quality of life and appreciates a safe and thoughtful approach to medicine using evidence-based treatments. She has research interests in clinical outcomes within most areas of GI and has published on celiac disease, infant nutrition, inflammatory conditions and hospital-based outcomes. She is the Program Director for the ACGME certified Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition Fellowship at the University of Utah and also teaches medical students, residents and fellows at the School of Medicine.
