Dr Alvarez received her medical degree from the Far Eastern University, Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation in the Philippines. She conducted her clinical internship at Chinese General Hospital, also in the Philippines, and then completed her internship and residency at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in El Paso, Texas.
