I have a wide range of interests in providing care for women with cardiovascular needs. I have an interest in cardio-obstetrics and work closely with the Maternal Fetal Medicine Department to provide specialized care pre-conception, during active pregnancy and post-partum to women with active cardiovascular disease as well experiencing new symptoms. Currently see patients at Eastowne, Panther Creek and Rex at the Combined Women’s Heart Clinic. I am currently the Co-PI for the UNC site of the HOPE trial looking at outcomes of pregnant women with cardiovascular disease. I also have an interest in caring for women with rheumatological disease wishing to be counseled on prevention or who have active cardiac symptoms and disease. In addition, I am the program director for the women’s heart fellowship program which in a one-year fellowship designed to train and develop cardiologists who are uniquely positioned to care for women at all stages of life with cardiovascular needs.
