Benjamin Johnston, MD joined AdventHealth in 2025 and brings Hepatobiliary and Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery to the AdventHealth Cancer Institute. Dr Johnston regularly performs the most advanced minimally invasive cancer surgeries, including the robotic Whipple for pancreas cancer. Minimally invasive surgery offers a smoother recovery, lower infections, and quicker time to follow up cancer treatment. Dr Johnston received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine where he also completed his residency in General Surgery. He then went on to complete surgical fellowship in hepatobiliary and pancreas surgery at Oregan Health and Science University.
