I would not recommend Dr. Mascorro's office if you are managing mental health concerns. After surgery for endometriosis, I was put on medicine which badly affected my existing depression, PTSD, and anxiety. Dr. Mascorro did not listen to my concerns and simply wanted to put me back on the same medication, despite the fact it exacerbated my anxiety and depression to a dangerous point. She refused to believe that hormonal changes could impact my mental health and afforded me no dignity whatsoever in our exchanges.

During the follow-up exam after surgery, she started the internal exam without warning me, which was painful, startling, and violating. She dismissed my concerns at the end of the visit, telling me that endometriosis is always painful and difficult and that at least I didn't have cancer. I have since found a doctor who works with my mental health conditions and endometriosis and shows me respect as both a patient and a person.
