About Jodi
Jodi Braford has always enjoyed being in the medical field and working with people. She took inspiration from her  grandmother and aunt, who were both nurses, and her  grandfather who was a physical therapist. “I decided to obtain  my BSN to continue my education and further my career while  still placing emphasis on patient care. This ultimately led me to become a nurse practitioner.”

Jodi’s chosen specialty enables her to focus on the two areas  of medicine she’s most passionate about: women’s health and  oncology. “I provide care to women who have been diagnosed  with cancers of the reproductive organs,” she explains. “I chose Beacon because of its reputation for comprehensive and compassionate care. They always put patients first.” For Jodi, it’s also personal. “Both my parents have been diagnosed with cancer. I know what it’s like for a family member to receive that news and how to help them navigate through treatment.”

Jodi’s philosophy is simple: treat all patients as if they were a cherished family member. “Respect and compassion are so important,” she says. “I strive to treat everyone equally, regardless of their situation.” Her patients have taught her to be open and honest when providing care. “As a provider you see patients at a vulnerable time in their life. I want them to know I am dedicated to listening to them, while providing the most up-to-date care available. I’m here to guide them through their healthcare journey and advocate for their care.”

In her own words
Who was the most influential person/role model in your life? My mom is my role model. She has always encouraged me and inspired me to achieve the goals I set for myself.

What was your first job growing up? What do you remember most about it? I was a babysitter. I would spend the days watching Disney movies and baking
cookies with the kids.

What is your favorite food? Movie? I love any kind of Spanish food. As for movies, there are too many for me to choose just one. Right now, I’m enjoying the TV series Ted Lasso.

What were your best/worst subjects in school growing up?  My best subject was history; the worst was math.

If you could sit down to dinner with anyone (alive or deceased), who would it be and why? Frida Kahlo. Not only is her artwork spectacular, but the history of her life is amazing as well. She overcame polio as a child, then survived a terrible bus accident and went on to become a great artist and activist.

In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about? What are your hobbies, interests? Being outside, spending time with friends and family.

Do you have pets? I have two beautiful orange rescue cats, Charlie and Toulouse, who can be very demanding.

What is something most people don’t know about you?  I also have a degree in Art History.
