Naturally, our body’s ability to heal begins to diminish as we age. Due to this aging process, it can take longer for injuries to heal, which can result in our experiencing prolonged pain, or injuries that seem to not resolve.
Regenerative medicine is a process that harnesses the cells in our bodies responsible for the healing process, and when applied to areas of pain, can either signal the body to generate new, healthy cells (stem cells), or serve as a beacon (platelet rich plasma) alerting our body where to send our healing cells.
Stem cells and platelet rich plasma (PRP) can be used independently of each other or as a combined treatment option, depending on the injury and pain being treated.
