She completed her medical internship at the Toronto General Hospital and her medical residency on the Medical Service of Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. She served as Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine for Clinical and Epidemiological Research from 2010 to 2017 and Senior Associate Dean for Student Research from 2015 to 2022.
