About

Jenny Shao

I am a fellowship-trained minimally invasive and robotic general surgeon specializing in abdominal surgery. I treat many different diseases in the abdomen from gallbladder issues to more complex problems surrounding reflux, hiatal hernias, and esophageal motility disorders.  I also specialize in fixing hernias of all types. My research focuses on the improvement of surgical outcomes in complex hernia repair and anti-reflux surgery.

If possible, I prefer to use small incisions and the latest minimally invasive technology and advancements in medicine to achieve the best results possible.

I believe that communication is key in good patient care and will work hard to develop individualized patient treatment plans and to provide comprehensive care through a multidisciplinary approach in collaboration with other specialties.  My care team will work hard to provide you with personalized care and knowledgeable answers throughout the surgery planning process.
