Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: I chose to pursue a career in medicine to enrich the lives of patients to lead healthier lifestyles. I initially graduated with a bachelor of science degree and a master of science degree in exercise physiology, where I learned how to help cardiac, pulmonary, and weight management patients by prescribing monitored exercise programs. I was so intrigued by the human body and wanted to learn more about medicine, so four years later, I received my RN degree. Six years later, I went on to earn my advanced degree as a nurse practitioner and have never regretted my decision to enhance my career.
