He completed his residency in internal medicine in 1985 from the same university'€s K.M. School of Medicine and Research. In the United Sates, Shah completed a residency and internship in internal medicine in 1989 at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, and completed a Fellowship in gastroenterology in 1993 at Seton Hall University and University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
