Sergey Rekhtman
Dr. Rekhtman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra / Northwell. He is board certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Rekhtman is also the Co-Director of the Inpatient Dermatology Consultation Service at Northshore University Hospital, Long Island Jewish Hospital, and Cohen s Children Medical Center. He additionally serves as the Associate Program Director for the Residency Training Program in Dermatology at Northwell Health.Dr. Rekhtman received a Doctorate in Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. While working as a clinical pharmacist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Dr. Rekhtman also pursued a Master of Public Health specializing in Healthcare Policy and Management at the Boston University School of Public Health. This led to his induction into the Delta Omega Honor Society for public health and the Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society for healthcare management. Dr. Rekhtman went on to earn is medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He subsequently completed his residency in dermatology at Northwell Health where he served as Academic Chief Resident in his final year.Dr. Rekhtman s clinical interests include inpatient consultative dermatology, cutaneous drug toxicities, general dermatology, complex medical dermatology, and rheumatic skin diseases (i.e. lupus, dermatomyositis, psoriasis, vasculitis, etc.). His Research interests are primarily focused on inpatient and acute dermatologic conditions as well as on cutaneous drug toxicities. Dr. Rekhtman also has a strong interest in medical student and dermatology resident education.Dr. Rekhtman has served in a variety of leadership roles, including membership on the Council of Science and Research within the American Academy of Dermatology. He also serves on multiple graduate medical educational committees within Northwell Health.
