She completed an internal medicine internship and residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital, followed by a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. During medical school, Dr Cong received the Edward Weinstein Award for Outstanding Scholarship and Human Commitment. During her fellowship, she received the Endocrine Fellows Foundation Research Grant to investigate problems of thinking and memory in patients with primary hyperparathyroidism, a metabolic bone disease.
