I encourage them to take charge of their health and become a partner more than a patient.” He believes in keeping the channels of communication open and understands that every patient is unique with individualized needs. “You have to look at the whole picture instead of compartmentalizing the illness.”
Dr. Siddiqi received his Bachelor of Medicine from Sindh Medical College, University of Karachi. He is board certified in Sleep Medicine.
In his own words…
Who is or was the most influential person/role model in your life? My father. He was an honest and hardworking person. I learned work ethics from him.
What was your first job growing up? I always had an entrepreneur mentality. I sold toys at a stall and made few bucks!
What is your favorite food? My favorite food is seafood.
What were your best/worst subjects in school growing up? Biology was my best subject. Physics was my worst.
If you could sit down to dinner with anyone (alive or deceased) who would it be and why? President Obama. I think he is a smart person.
In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about? What are your hobbies, interests? Playing golf, travel and reading books.
What is something most people don’t know about you? I am an avid stamp collector.

Meet Dr. Israr Siddiqi. Although he developed an interest in biology when he was in high school, he was inspired by several family members – also physicians – to become a doctor himself.
