Teddy Youn

Teddy Youn, MD, is a neurologist in the Stroke Program and an assistant professor of neurology at Barrow Neurological Institute. He is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Youn’s expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of stroke and other neurovascular diseases. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Stroke Association, the Neurocritical Care Society, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Youn earned his medical degree from Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. He completed his residency in neurology at University of Washington Affiliated Hospitals in Seattle. He also completed fellowships in vascular neurology and neurocritical care at the Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut.

Dr. Youn has been involved in research related to neurological prognostication after cardiac arrest, brain death and organ donation, and invasive monitoring in traumatic brain injury. His current research interests include central retinal artery occlusion as a comorbid disease of stroke, advanced imaging biomarkers in intracerebral hemorrhage and traumatic brain injury, and poststroke recovery and rehabilitation.
