Dr. Kanwar is an advanced heart failure physician with expertise in the management of patients with cardiogenic shock, end stage heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Kanwar has been on faculty at AGH since 2011 and serves as the Director for the Mechanical Circulatory Support and Cardiac Transplantation programs. A dedicated researcher, with over 75 peer reviewed, Dr. Kanwar has conducted several clinical trials as primary investigator in the field of heart failure and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. Her research career is focused on the art of decision making using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. She was elected to the Board of Directors for the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation and serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation. Dr. Kanwar was named one of Pittsburgh Magazine's "Best Doctors" in 2019 and 2020.
