Dr. Wendy Lou specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic surgery. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with magna cum laude honors majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry and psychology. Dr. Lou received her M.D. degree with honors from the prestigious Yale University School of Medicine and subsequently interned at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. Her dermatology residency was completed at the world-renowned New York University Medical Center Department of Dermatology where she was a chief resident. Dr. Lou pursued further training in clinical cutaneous laser research and Mohs micrographic surgery at the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of New York.
Dr. Lou is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Dermatology at the SUNY-Stony Brook. She is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and American Academy of Dermatology. As an Clinical Assistant Professor at New York University Department of Dermatology for over 17 years, she taught and supervised residents in weekly clinics. She now teaches SUNY-Stony Brook dermatology residents in weekly clinics at the Northport VA Hospital. Dr. Lou is the author of numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapter.
