After a few years working as a mental health technician, I went to medical school in my hometown at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Later, I went to New York for my Internal Medicine residency, completing three years at St. Vincent's Hospital Catholic Medical Center in Manhattan. There, I was selected to be Chief Resident and oversaw the training and education for hundreds of residents during my Chief Residency year. Additionally, I decided to stay at St. Vincent's Hospital for my Fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Afterward, I performed my Transplant Hepatology training at Mt.
