Pankaj Vashi, MD, A.G.A.F., F.A.S.P.E.N., joined City of Hope Cancer Center in Lake County, Illinois, as a gastroenterologist in 1992, where he offers patients a number of minimally invasive techniques to diagnose and treat gastrointestinal tumors and help reduce cancer-related symptoms. He combines diagnostic tests and state-of-the-art technologies with nonsurgical techniques. A graduate of the University of Mumbai, India, Dr Vashi completed a residency program in internal medicine at Michigan State University and a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Michigan. Two years after joining City of Hope, he started the first nutrition and metabolic support program at the hospital.
