Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: I wish I could point to a specific event or time I decided on being a physician, I am unable to do so. As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a physician. In regards to the specifically wanting to be a pulmonary doctor, I decided on this as a intern in Internal Medicine when a bronchoscope was put in my hand. That did it for me. My strong interest in intensive care medicine fell in with this, as well. What I want my patients to know about me: Simple enough. As I have the honor of helping train the next generation of doctors, I stress two guiding principles that I try to live by.
