Our Mission and Purpose
Lakewood Community Acupuncture is a nonprofit health clinic offering high quality, affordable acupuncture in Lakewood, Colorado while empowering it’s community to live healthy lives. We wish to improve the quality of life in our community by providing relief from the pain, discomfort, stress, isolation and financial burden of acute and chronic illness through affordable and accessible community acupuncture and other holistic modalities.
At Lakewood Community Acupuncture, we aim to bridge the gap between different healthcare methods, paving the way for a truly integrative experience while increasing public access to holistic healthcare. We’re excited to share our collective knowledge with our community through classes, seminars, and consultations. We look forward to empowering our neighbors to play an active role in their own wellness and continue to live healthy lives.
How is Our Organization Charitable?
Our unique practice model and nonprofit status, enables Lakewood Community Acupuncture to provide affordable acupuncture at approximately ⅓ the cost of private acupuncture in our area. A lower cost makes our services accessible to more people in our community, giving most income levels the opportunity to enjoy the therapeutic, preventive, and palliative benefits of acupuncture.
As part of our commitment as a nonprofit health clinic, we sell all our herbal medicine and nutritional supplement products at 25% or greater reduced resale cost. Lakewood Community Acupuncture also offers your first Nutrition for Heart and Body Appointment, featuring the Heart Sound Recorder, free. It’s our gift to you, for optimal health and well-being.
Lakewood Community Acupuncture does not require or request any proof of income for our low-cost services. We offer the same quality treatment to everyone regardless of gender, race, income, national origin, age, ability or disability, marital status, familial situation, religion, size, sexual orientation, veteran status, or political beliefs of any kind. When available, in addition to our low-cost treatment, we offer free or reduced cost care as outlined by our Financial Assistance Charity Care Policy.

Community acupuncture is a national and international model for low cost, accessible and inclusive acupuncture. Our non-profit community acupuncture model allows our clinic to offer quality acupuncture services at approximately ⅓ the cost of full price privately offered acupuncture. Cupping Therapy
Cupping is the use of small glass, plastic or bamboo cups as suction devices that are placed on the skin. This suction, or negative pressure draws oxygen rich blood to the local area, while breaking up adhesions, stretching fascia and tissue and is effective for many types of painful conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Cups can also serve as a non needle approach to stimulating acupuncture points for those sensitive to needles.

Tuina Bodywork Therapy
Tuina (Twi-Nah) bodywork is an traditional Chinese bodywork most closely resembling conventional western massage. Many of the techniques are similar including gliding (effleurage), kneading (petrissage), percussion (tapotement), friction, pulling, rotation, rocking, vibration and shaking. It is a very effective and enjoyable healing therapy for most injuries, pain, and stress. (20 minute session). Learn more…

Herbal Medicine & Nutritional Health
Where appropriate, both within the community acupuncture sessions and nutritional programs, herbal and nutritional supplements will be suggested. Herbal and nutritional medicinals allow us to expand and deepen our scope to further benefit patients with acute and chronic health problems such as digestive issues, hormonal imbalance, respiratory issues, female health and fertility, low energy, sleep disorders, emotional health and so much more. We have a variety of brands and forms to offer based on the individual’s needs. All herbs and supplements will be prescribed after a consultation regarding the patient’s current symptoms along with a history of drugs, herbs, supplements and pharmaceutical and over the counter medications and vitamins.
