Dr. Daniels graduated at the top of his class from a small, rural high school in Virginia, wanting to become either a lawyer or a physician. Thanks to a guidance counselor who veered him away from a career in law, and a mother who was a nurse, Dr. Daniels followed the path better suited to his personality and interests.
He graduated summa cum laude from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He studied medicine at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in Cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas.
Then, as the sole fellow who went to the Veteran's Administration to train in interventional cardiology, Dr. Daniels had a unique opportunity to perform angioplasties on his own every day. Recruited to join a practice in McAllen, Texas, Dr. Daniels, again, had the opportunity to perform a large number of cardiac interventions at this early stage in his career. After three years in McAllen, Dr. Daniels joined a small private practice in San Antonio, Texas, until he moved to South Texas Cardiovascular Consultants in early 2013.
Dr. Daniels belongs to a number of professional organizations including the American College of Cardiology, Texas Medical Association, Bexar County Medical Society and the American Heart Association. He sees patients in the San Antonio and Kerrville offices as well as Methodist Hospital | Texsan.
