Elayna Rubens, MD, is Co-Director, Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring Service at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Neurology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr Rubens’s primary clinical focus is performing intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring to enhance the safety of surgeries that may affect the brain, spinal cord or peripheral nerves. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in biology and neurobiology from Cornell University in 1998, Dr Rubens earned her Doctor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2003. Dr Rubens completed her neurology residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 2007, where she was Chief Resident in her final year.
