About
The Gladys Vest Home is in memoriam to my mother Gladys. My wife and I cared for her for thirteen years. Mother welcomed us into her home after I sold my gem business in Thailand in 1991. Mother had Essential Tremor and it progressed. She suffered a heart attack in 1998 and succumbed to congestive heart failure and old age dementia at age ninety-one on June 8, 2004. She left me a big piece of her compassionate heart along with the knowledge and ability of care giving.
The Family
Daily life of my three new “parents” is:
1) love, affection, and happiness (hugs, kind words, mutual consideration)
2) respect and concern (as scheduled, doctor, beauty parlor, appointments, activities)
3) fine food and drink (eating out)
4) entertainment and travel (domestic & international)
5) clean, orderly living
6) internet web-cam contact with family (visits)
7) comfort (parents select beds, furniture, decor)
8) The “family” will live together and share their lives
My desire is to take in reasonably healthy, independent people, and care for them if and when illness or ailments develop. The above 8-points will assure they remain in this home for life.
