After being in the mental health field as a licensed counselor for over 15 years, Dr. Dan decided he owed it to his clients to provide the best, evidence based, research based care possible, which prompted him,to return to the University to pursue a doctorate degree in psychology. Dr. Dan's lifelong goal of providing quality mental health services can be seen in his continuing education as he attends and presents at professional conferences throughout nation, specialized certifications in various topics including addiction recovery, process disorders and specialized treatment approaches.
Dr. Dan specializes in couple counseling, marriage counseling and relationship counseling using various approaches to help relationships become as fully functioning and rewarding as possible while also dealing with issues that can impact the relationship such as anger, substance use, anxiety, phobias, pornography, sexual difficulties, affairs, blended family issues, parenting issues, and such.
In addition to relationship counseling, Dr. Dan works with patients individually focusing on various addictive behaviors (gambling, substances, pornography) and mental health issues (depression, anxiety, hopelessness, fear, emotional instability, anger).
Life/Wellness coaching is used for helping meet personal life goals and other challenges in functioning that limit feeling happy and alive but don't meet the threshold of a mental health problem such as parenting, conflicting parenting, employment, dating, sleep issues, and other behaviors that keep people from reaching their full potential.
