Education I received a Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Providence College and a Masters in Clinical Social Work from Smith College. I interned at The Stone Center at Wellesley College and Massachusetts General Hospital, where I was trained in Relational, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I obtained a PhD in Advanced Clinical Social Work from Columbia University and was a Council on Social Work Education Research Fellow funded by the National Institute of Mental Health. My dissertation research was on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Training I did a Post Doctoral Fellowship in Psychiatric Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. I completed level III of the Gottman Method Couples Therapy training program at the Gottman Relationship Institute and obtained a certificate in the treatment of sexual addiction from the American Association of Christian Counselors. I also received training in anger management and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) therapy for trauma. Additionally, I have taken seminary courses through Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.
