25 years ago, I made a promise to myself and others to work with teenagers who were paroled or on probation from the state's Department of Juvenile Justice. In that time, I've worked as a guard and then a counselor for many years at DJJ. I know very well the uphill climb children and their families who have been through this experience, and also those who want to keep their children OUT of DJJ. This is my focus.
