Sherry has always had a passion for working with couples experiencing turmoil in their relationships resulting from infidelities, communication problems, or life cycle transitions, and a majority of her clinical experience was spent working with parents adjusting to the challenges of parenting, and specifically raising a special needs child. In her practice she has the privilege of serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among Sherry's areas of expertise are relationship issues, parenting styles, communication problems, and the exploration of the whole self. All of her years as an artist, wife and mother combined with her knowledge of family systems enables Sherry to offer a unique and creative way of blending counseling theories and techniques to meet the needs of her clients.
As an engaged, emotion-focused therapist, Sherry's approach is to explore the varying degrees of emotional pain, loss, loneliness, and yearning for comfort that can be disguised by actions masking those feelings through being defensive, angry, and emotionally distant. Integrating complementary methodologies and techniques allows her to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client.
