The first time I went to this office was 2 years ago, I saw Dr. Messina, she was quick with my yearly exam, which I appreciated; but also seemed really rushed. This review is regarding Dr. Carr.

I recently found a lump on my breast and could not go to my normal OB/GYN because she was booked out too far for something so serious. I ended up settling on this place again, and Dr. Messina was also booked, so they suggested Dr. Carr who was new and taking new patients. I accepted simply for the urgency. I advised the receptionist that I am also due for a yearly exam, but she told me I was not able to do a breast exam and yearly pap in same appointment, and to worry about the pap later. I arrived at my appointment and first things first, they tried to charge me $80 for a "specialist" co-pay for the breast exam. I asked what the "breast exam" included and the receptionist said it was just the Dr. touching my breast and seeing if anything was suspicious. I told her, that I contacted my insurance prior to the appointment and they said this should fall under preventative care and be free, but the office insisted that since this was not a pap test, and only a breast exam I would have to pay. I stated that I was not paying for something that is free and included in my yearly test, especially since I am over due for a pap. They agreed and then told me they would turn it into a pap and full exam.

Moving on, Dr. Carr arrived timely in the exam room, but did not introduce her self or shake my hand. She asked what was going on and I told her my large list of sudden symptoms, and pointed out the large, hard, lump on my breast. I told her that I had recently lost about 75 pounds and don't generally wear a bra, I immediately felt judged after she quickly, and rudely asked "why wouldn't you wear a bra?" I explained to her that due to my weight loss, I don't have much left to contain. Carrying on to the exam, before we started I playfully advised her that I am a normal mid-twenty year old female, and I know Dr.'s hate it, but I unfortunately went to Google for answers. She said everything looked normal, I passively said I found it hard to believe that everything is ok, because I have had a tremendously sudden out-break of symptoms, that Google matches to symptoms of breast cancer, she rudely replied, and went on a rant about how her credentials and degrees aren't good enough for me, but I believe Google, and how her being a doctor isn't important, but the internet is so accurate. I was immediately shocked at her lack of empathy, rudeness, and professionalism. I told her that I wasn't trying to offend her, or her experience, and that I simply knew my body, and felt something was wrong, and needed more piece of mind, than her gliding her hands over my breasts. After a few more minutes of her going on about all the years of hard work she put forth to be where she is, she finally wrote me a prescription for an ultra sound. I would not suggest this office, or Dr. Carr. She made me feel even worse than I already did, after finding a lump in my breast. I could not believe what I experienced. It is the 21st century, if she can not accept that people do use the internet for symptoms, and she is going to feel "offended" every time someone asks for clarification, or answers, then she should find a new career.
