I hope this helps other mamas a) leave this practice who are having similar experiences or b) prevent mamas from going through it. Honestly, it's hard to include all that went wrong with this doctor in the little time she deserves spent on a review. For context and simply put, I'm just a middle class first-time mama who was looking for a doctor that didn't subscribe to mainstream narratives. It’s been 2 months now since seeing Dr. Tamie Dixon and it’s been the worst healthcare experience I’ve ever had with any holistic OR allopathic doctor.
- She introduced herself at our first appt by saying she just fired two clients, then unexpectedly upcharged us an extra $50 at the end because she ran over her appointment slot (ofcourse a provider can decide who to work with, but WE hire our providers; it's also a service provider's job to guide discussion and end on time, not ours)
- She diagnosed our child with a hemangioma but told us we were wrong for wanting to do bloodwork, genetic testing, or imaging (we wanted to make sure she didn't have hemangiomas in the liver which are common, and we just wanted to see if we could learn more about why it may be happening; science is constantly evolving).
- After meeting in office and having several calls, I asked her to teach me how PCP referrals work in her practice and if she'd refer us to WVU hematology and she claimed she doesn't want our child to get an MRI, isn't our child's doctor, felt the conversation was pointless, and abruptly ended the call
- The appointments were SO disorganized: she talked more about herself than she did ask questions, the only questions she did ask were about my emotions postpartum and how they were making me unnecessarily concerned, absolutely not one physical exam besides height/weight which we needed to remind her to measure before leaving as well as the medication she recommended
- She was just so combative, righteous, and opinionated across the board which was worse than the arrogant, allopathic doctors I was trying to get away from. She literally said "not sure why that's happening to her but they usually go away so just sit, wait, and see because any testing or specialist will get you no answers and be a never ending rabbit hole trust me I've went down that path before."
I felt our family is so genuine, respectable, curious, and definitely didn’t deserve to be condemned, made to feel inferior, gaslit, or left clueless like she did. Your doctor should help you feel confident & comfortable making your own, educated decisions... and she did nothing but project her own experiences and opinions onto our family from the very beginning.

Very thorough, conscience, asks very good questions, excellent diagnostician. She told me what to do and I lost forty pounds in less than eight weeks.
