I started wearing glasses at 9 and contacts at 13. I am now 47 and have been to many eye doctors in my time. I just moved to Washington NJ and wanted to use a local eye doctor and chose Dr. Gigette Collazo, O.D. at Advanced Eyecare. I hadn't been really happy with the last couple of eye doctors and was so pleased that Dr. Collazo made me feel at home. She explained everything to my level so that I could understand why I was experiencing difficulty with my lens. Following her advice, which seemed so simple but the other doctors couldn't figure it out, has helped me reduce my headaches. My lens are less burry and last the full day with less eye stress. She even called me to follow up to see how I was doing. Wow! A lot of doctors would do well to follow her instruction! Way to go Advanced Eyecare, I will be sure to tell everyone what a great experience I had.

Very bad experience with Dr. Collazo, who purchased Dr. Zipf's practice. I have a pair of glasses that I picked up on 2/21/13 (yes..last year). Yesterday, my frames snapped when I was taking them off. I put a little crazy glue on them (which didn't really work) and went in to see her this morning. She would not come out to see me, but communicated through the receptionist. I was told that although I didn't pick them up until the 21st last year, my exam appt was on the 1st and that is when she counts the warranty time. WHAT???????? I thought warranty begins when you actually receive the product.

So, I am told I will have to pay for new frames. Additionally, she claims she cannot get the lens out because of the crazy glue (did she try?). False, just a little acetone and it comes right off glass...which I told her (through the receptionist). Oh, and...I am told that they couldn't replace just one lens-it would have to be both because of the transitions. I was told I needed to PURCHASE both a new frame and two new lenses..oh, and she wants to be PAID IN FULL UP FRONT.

Bottom line: This was a faulty product that I received and paid for in just less than a year ago; I should be entitled to a full replacement. Dr. Zipf would have honored that. At best she could have offered to replace them at cost, rather than at the huge profit she thinks she would make.

SOLUTION: #1 Call the insurance company and file an official complaint. #2-Call the Better Business Bureau and file an official complaint. #3-Get my records transferred and find a provider who is professional enough to know good customer service. #4-Stop at Walmart and see if they have replacement frames that fit my lenses-I'll pay anyone else besides her for a solution.

And finally....#5-Tell all my Faceboook friends from the Washington area.

Any other suggestions?
