I am going to preface this review by saying these words are very heart felt. I could not be more serious about what you are about to read!
I don’t really know how to explain the remarkable difference I have seen in myself in the last few weeks since seeing Dr. McAndrews. It is almost magical. I knew I needed to make a switch to a different chiropractor, but she has affected my life on many levels beyond just aligning my spine!!! I had been going to the same chiropractic office for 7 years. I have felt more change in three weeks than I had in 7 years. No joke.

I did not expect to get into the subject of food in such detail, but after her explanation of the science behind how diet can affect brain chemistry, as a bipolar individual I was willing to try something different. I am currently in the process of getting back to my goal weight as well. Even though I still feel like I may be consuming too many calories (even though they are the right kind of calories) and I have not resumed exercise yet after an injury, I have shrunk some because I am not inflamed everywhere. It is a great feeling when I wake up to not have a bloated belly, even though, my digestive system is still adjusting to eating differently. I just feel lighter, as if I were losing weight like I was kicking my ass in the gym but I haven’t even started! (Still doesn’t make sense to me because I am slightly constipated so I should feel horrible.)
Anyway, this is all exciting because once I get back to my swimming and running I am really going to feel a change! In regards to my brain, I am noticing more clarity and also I think I am slightly more productive/organized in my thoughts. This has only been the third week of eating this way and I am so stoked to see how I feel two months from now!

I have also had moments lately where (if I really believe my intuition and not second guess why certain thoughts come) memories pop up. Traumas that I haven’t thought about in a long time. It’s almost as if these new areas where I am feeling physical pain are possibly associated in some way with these icky emotions. We had an appointment recently where she touched my upper back softly and just told me to let regret/shame go, in whichever way that resonated with me. Maybe that opened a door. With this new found level of clarity in my thoughts (due to the diet change) I feel like I should not dismiss these feelings. I envision going down a path with her where I start to figure out how to listen to my body in a full circle kind of way.

My 12 year old son has autism. I am extremely excited to see the relationship grow between them. The bonus is that I am going to learn things about him through her intuitive nature. Just another unexpected part of this new path that I am going to love!

She was recommended to me by a good friend, so I decided to go. I NEVER expected this level of positive and eye opening change from a chiropractor. That just goes to show that the universe has led me to her office and how ONE OF A KIND a doctor can be. Only certain types of people can inspire change like this.
I also need to mention, the first week I saw Dr. Mary my back froze up on me which was very painful and made it hard to function. The attention that she gave me when I was at my worst was shocking. Coming in on days off was mind-blowing to me. Talk about going above and beyond!

I am super grateful for her!!! I am excited for this new journey for not only my body, but also my mind. Who knew this could all come from a chiropractor!!!
