Chiropractic is a client centered approach to health care that is non-invasive in nature in comparison to traditional medical care and is a holistic outlook on a clients overall health encircling all factors surrounding the clients health and current conditions. Diet, exercise, and environmental factors are some of the common issues also addressed in consideration of the overall treatment and management of the client. Chiropractors provide safe, drugless, non-surgical health treatments that optimize the body’s inherent recuperative abilities.

Chiropractors diagnose and treat clients with a variety of muscular, nervous and skeletal system related health conditions. Chiropractors are especially skilled and are highly trained in conditions of the spine and nervous system. Chiropractors believe that vertebral dysfunction can lead to skeletal imbalances from joint dysfunction and significantly alters the major bodily functions by affecting the nervous system and increasing the body’s resistance to disease.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine originating from ancient China over 6,000 years ago. Acupuncture treats clients by manipulating thin, solid needles that have been inserted into specific acupuncture points in the skin. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, stimulating these points can help correct imbalances in the flow of qi, the energy force of the body that flows along channels known as meridians. Disruption of this qi is what traditional Chinese medical professionals say lead to disease.

There are approximately 365 acupuncture points that run along 12-14 different meridian channels. Acupuncture can range from the treatment of body aches and headaches to infertility and depression. In clinical practice, acupuncture is highly individualized and based on philosophy and intuition. Acupuncture provides all-natural, non-surgical, non-pharmaceutical pain relief, the elimination of tension and stress, the prevention of illness, and a dramatic improvement in health and vitality.

Graston Soft Tissue Therapy

Graston Technique® is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.

Originally developed by athletes, Graston Technique® is an interdisciplinary treatment used by more than 16,000 clinicians worldwide—including physical and occupational therapists, hand therapists, chiropractors, and athletic trainers.

Graston Technique works for the client by decreasing overall time of treatment, fosters faster rehabilitation and recovery from injuries or surgery, reduces the need for anti- inflammatory medications and helps resolve chronic conditions thought to be permanent. Scar tissue limits range of motion, and in many instances causes pain, which prevents the patient from functioning as he or she did before the injury.

Graston Technique works by separating and breaking down collagen cross-links, that develop from chronic inflammation and/or post-surgery, and stretches connective tissue and muscle fibers in order to help correct improper tissue healing. Graston also works by increasing skin temperature and increases the rate and amount of blood flow to and from the area, which aids in the increase of cellular activity needed to proper heal the area affected.

The Kinesio Taping Technique exhibits its efficacy through the activation of the neurological and circulatory systems by applying an elastic tape over the body, insertion and or origin of a muscle. The method is rooted in the science of Kinesiology, hence the name “Kinesio”. Muscles not only attribute to the movements of the body, but they also regulate the circulation of venous and lymph flows along with helping regulate body temperature. Therefore, the failure of the muscles to function properly induces various kinds of symptoms. Kinesio Tape works by giving support and stability to the joints and muscles while also promoting circulation and range of motion.

The Kinesio Taping Method is used to reduce pain and inflammation, relax overused tired muscles, and to support muscles in movement. It is non-restrictive type of taping which allows for full range of motion. In contrast, traditional sports taping is wrapped around a joint strictly for stabilization and support during a sporting event obstructing the flow of bodily fluids as an undesirable side-effect.

Kinesio Tape is used for anything from headaches to foot problems and everything in between. Examples include: carpal tunnel syndrome, lower back strain/pain from joint dysfunction and/or herniated disc, knee conditions, shoulder conditions, hamstring, groin injury, rotator cuff injury, whiplash, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, etc..
