Peter Carpentieri, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Through a personal blend of mindful and compassionate listening, unconditional acceptance, and careful reflection and exploration, I endeavor to bring out the very best in all of my clients. Supported by years of training and experience in holistic, somatic, cognitive and client-centered therapeutic approaches, I create a safe and supportive environment in which you can freely explore and express your deepest feelings and concerns and consider new ways of relating. Often magical and unexpected things happen; old patterns and beliefs are shed, and new and rewarding ways of being and feeling in the world are discovered. Life becomes a joy, rather than a burden.
I specialize in working with those who have survived the suicide of a loved one, those facing spiritual and existential dilemmas, those who have suffered childhood trauma and abuse, people in 12-Step Recovery, and adolescents and their families.
I have been a practicing Zen Buddhist for more than 25 years, am a Certified Holistic Health Counselor/Educator with the Kripalu Yoga Insititute, am thoroughly familiar with the Twelve Steps, and am a graduate of the School of Holistic Studies at JFK University with a Transpersonal focus.
