I strongly believe that people really do play a powerful role as their own agents of change and my role as a counselor is to provide the insight, support, and skills necessary to maximize effective, and satisfying change. As a Solution-Focuses therapist, my counseling interventions are practical, and straightforward so you receive the help and answers you need in the shortest time, and in the most cost-effective way possible. I do validate and address the past which is an integral part of who we are today, however my therapeutic focus is on the present and finding ways to improve your quality of life by utilizing very specific skills and techniques. Whether you are having problems with self esteem, anxiety, depression, sexuality, work, or relationships to name a few, contemporary research indicates that Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) is an extremely effective modality in attending to these issues. I do not pathologize or try to cure people, I do however, help them to become unstuck, so to speak, by bringing out and utilizing their strengths and the assets they may have been previously unaware of.

I am a marriage and Family Therapist, licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Lic. # 46212) and I am also a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the Redwood Empire chapter of the California Association of marriage and family therapists. With more than 22 years of experience counseling individuals, couples, and families, I have seen clients come from a place of despair and hopelessness, to leading happier; more productive lifestyles. I have worked with adults and children in both my private practice as well as in non-profit, and school settings. I am also a skilled diagnostician and an expert in dream analysis, guided imagery, relaxation, and systematic desensitization techniques.
