About

JAMES WINBERRY, DC

Dr. Winberry's practice, located at 2275 W. Magee Road, Suite 112, Tucson, AZ 85712, is limited to diagnostic digital motion x-ray (DMX), done for the purpose of evaluating the status of the ligaments of the cervical and lumbar spines, and the extremity joints. Dr. Winberry performs the DMX study, reads it, writes the report, gets it medically validated by a board certified medical radiologist, and presents the resulting information to the referring doctor and to the plaintiff attorney, if there is one. He does a similar analysis of lumbar plain film motion studies, also for the purpose of identifying any ligamentous injuries in the lumbar spine, and renders impairment ratings, as per the protocols outlined in the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, 6th Ed. Dr. Winberry is certified by his state board to teach a 12 hour seminar in the interpretation of motion x-ray, which he offers about six times per year.

Services When people are whiplashed, it is the ligaments of the spine which sustain the greatest injury. Migraine-intensity headaches, severe neck pain, muscle spasms, fibromyalgia, and generally poor healing following trauma are commonly caused by ligament injury. Absolutely essential to getting an injured person well is getting the right diagnosis, so the right treatment protocols can be instituted and followed. MRI is held up to be the "gold standard" for ligament evaluation, but the truth is that MRI is inadequate for identifying ligament injuries, especially in the cervical spine. We have known for decades what happens at every joint in your body when you move. When ligaments are stretched abruptly during a car crash, they never regain their original length, and their joint becomes unstable. Since ligaments go from one bone to the next bone, and give the ultimate integrity to the joint, the sign of ligament damage is unusual gapping between the bones when you move. Identifying each and every injured ligament is important for your doctor to know, so that he/she can address each problem, and it is important for your attorney to know, so that he/she can understand your injuries well enough to defend them and get you the compensation you deserve when you are injured. Additional Services migraine, motor vehicle collision, concussion, fibromyalgia, neck injury, headache, dizziness
