Dr. James graduated from medical school at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 1972, and completed his residency in internal medicine from the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Medicine in 1975. Dr. James also served as the Chief Resident and Instructor in Medicine at the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Medicine from 1974-1975. Dr. James currently serves as Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs/Chief Medical Officer at Phelps County Regional Medical Center.
Dr. James has seen patients at Mid-Missouri Internal Medicine for 35 years, served on the PCRMC Board of Trustees for seven years and has held numerous leadership roles on the hospital medical staff. He also served as chairman of the department of internal medicine for 12 years, Chief of Staff for two separate terms, Vice Chief of Staff, and has been a member of the Medical Executive Committee for at least 20 years.
