Danielle Russo earned her Pilates certification with the Pilates Academy International. Her accreditation ranges to include Pilates mat, as well as the reformer, chair, cadillac/tower, ladder barrel, arc barrel and spine corrector. Her practice spans from private equipment instruction to group classes in Pilates mat and apparatus, alike. In addition to her formal certification, Danielle studied with Joseph Pilates protege Kathy Grant to supplement her dance training at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. It is there that she received her BFA in Dance, as well as her BA in Anthropology. She furthered her studies in kinesiology and movement analysis with renowned anatomist Irene Dowd while pursuing her MFA in Dance with the Hollins University | American Dance Festival partnership. Moreover, Pilates bridges her love for movement with her keen interest in muscular anatomy and exercise science; a middle ground between her professional dance career and her understanding of gait and postural patterns persistent in her continuing studies.
