I feel as though my appointments caused more harm than they did good. Although I asked questions, those questions were met with defensive answers and, ultimately, severed the therapy relationship. I felt as though I was pushed very early to talk about trauma and she didn't know how to "put the brakes on." I was then blamed for the disclosure, prematurely judged and informed that I should seek help elsewhere. In short, I was left raw and unstable. There was little, if any, concern about the safety of the space or the client. Although Laura is nice, I believe her competency in trauma work is negligible. The office space is very clinical and clients must exit into a waiting room full of people. My personal experience with her caused significant damage to my life and has impacted my degree of confidence in this profession.
