About

Melissa Kaplan, LMHC

Psychotherapy and the therapeutic relationship are powerful tools. Therapy is a client directed process with the goal of becoming more authentically oneself. It is a tremendous honor for me to be present and involved in this transition with my clients.

I received my Masters in 2003 from Lesley University and my independent license in 2010. I have been working in the field providing individual therapy to adolescents and adults since graduation. My work at mental health clinics has allowed me to gain experience with a wide variety of cultures, lifestyles and socioeconomic circumstances. I am affiliated with the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association and the New England Center for Existential Therapy. I am also deeply committed to the cause of making it possible for all people to build the relationships and families that work for them, a commitment that is reflected in both my professional work and my activism outside the workplace.

I look forward to getting to know you and helping you on your journey!

I had a great experience seeing Melissa Kaplan. We worked together off and on for quite a while. She encouraged me to accept my identity and helped me out by providing reality checks. She is open to working with art therapy and visualization. Highly recommended.
