We love newborns and we love to help parents cope with the new experience and blessing of having a child. Many of our patients are coached on how to have their babies sleep through the night by age six weeks. No guarantees, but it works most of the time.
Did you know that there is a way in which a circumcision can be done that is virtually bloodless. We take care to do a great job.
Amblyopia (monocular vision blindness) is the single largest cause of eye problems and as many as 4 % of the population experience some form of it. Amblyopia onset occurs in young children because of an imbalance in visual acuity between the eyes. If detected young enough (typically less than three years of age), treatment can allow for its correction. Treatment options diminish significantly for children older than for years old, and it is virtually untreatable beyond age seven years of age.
For two years we at Care First Pediatrics have been the only Pediaric office to provide FDA approved testing for Amblyopia for children as young as 6 months of age. Insurance coverage is good, and annual testing is recommended during the first four years of life in particular.
One of the benefits of coming to our office is that we take significantly more time with our patients to look after their needs. This is made possible because of us not having to compromize the quality of the care we give because of low HMO reimbursements. If a parent has an HMO plan at their work and would like for their children to come to Care First Pediatrics, there are child only plans available at both Anthem Blue Cross (even allows for a family of children to be bundled together) and Blue Shield.
