About

Antony Merendino, DPM

My name is Antony Merendino, DPM, and I am a clinical assistant professor at the University of Florida Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. I earned my medical degree from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami. Following medical school, I completed my residency in podiatric surgery at Kern Hospital for Special Surgery in Warren, Michigan. My inspiration for becoming a physician started when I was young. I experienced the battle my grandparents had with the effects of diabetes, which eventually led to the loss of limbs and life. This formed my desire and focus to reduce the effects of diabetes and other diseases of the foot and ankle.

I met with Dr. Song and he diagnosed me within 30 seconds. He didn't bother to test where the pain was in my foot and I believe he misdiagnosed me with plantar fasciitis instead of a stress fracture. His English is plain awful and because of this, I cancelled my appointment to see him in 3 weeks. If you want someone who takes time to trouble shoot your pain and problems, do not see this doctor. If good communication is a must in English, go see someone else.

Dr. Song is the most caring doctor that I have ever dealt with. I had bunion surgery several years ago with another physician. After some time it was determined that my body was rejecting the hardware used. I had to have it removed. When Dr. Song did my bone spur surgery he has not released me because the time was up. Rather he is ensuring that I have healed properly before releasing me from his care. You don't find doctors like that any more. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Song for your foot needs. He also has a very nice, friendly, welcoming staff! ALL PLUSES no negatives.
