She treated me when I was a young teenager back in the early 80s/90s. And? She made a positively big difference in my life. She was kind, honest and effective. At the time, I was a foster kid with fresh abandonment issues. I still struggle, but she was an honest and sincere ear when most adults were not. I hope I can come close to being the therapist she is one day.

In my case, therapy with Louise enabled me to overcome cluster migraine and find a personhood which had long evaded me. Other symptoms disappeared as very gradually I dealt with all the pieces of a badly-traumatized childhood including sexual abuse.

I found Ms. Volk to be a very talented therapist, a loving person, and someone unafraid to deal with a client's hard issues. I had seen an assortment of other therapists over the years, but before Ms. Volk, there was no improvement, only more despair and a worsening of symptoms.
