For the couple who really wants to make it work and just doesn't know how, I highly recommend S. Stauber's seminars. My husband was skeptical, we had been to 9 other people in an effort to figure out how to work with each other and at least be comfortable and someday, maybe happy. During the seminar, my husband went from skeptical to considering to trying the listening and interactions skills we were taught, to being excited about the possibilities and that we were finally able to begin having a safe, real connection and we could see how to continue to do so, even working on our own. Admittedly, it took years for us to progress on our own, it probably would have been easier and more secure to continue with counseling for awhile, but there was no Imago counselor close to us at the time. A big part of our success I think is that our goal was that both of us would win in the relationship, not just one of us. I am very grateful to S. Stauber, I have been married for about 20 years now , I have 7 children. At the time, I only had 3. As a word of encouragement to couples who are struggling, when you're in the thick of it, it can be very, very painful. If you can keep on breathing through it, not make any ultimatums, and reach out for help, and if possible, both of you show up to learn whatever it is you don't know about your own and each others triggers, about how to keep yourself and your partner safe, how to hear and communicate understanding, and ultimately, how to bring back joy, balance, love and the ability to make decisions together, you are almost ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN, in my opinion, to get there! Use your vision to see what's good and how it can get even better.
