I am writing this on behalf of my husband as he is completely beside himself. He is a 46yo man who has dealt with crippling anxiety most of his life and has finally opened himself up to the idea of therapy. His experience is as follows:
First Appointment - Dr. Tracy was 20 minutes late. While my husband waited in the parking lot because of locked doors, he spoke with another client in the parking lot to learn they were both scheduled at the same time. The other client went in and it was another 10-20 minutes before my husband was asked to come in.... 30 minutes past his appointment.
Second Appointment a week later- Husband sat in the waiting room for 10 minutes until he walked back to Dr. Tracy's office. Dr. Tracy was surprised to see him. He had changed his appointment to a different day and failed to let him know. He sent him home.
Third Appointment next day- Husband tried to walk in but was asked to wait in his car. After 20 minutes of sitting there past his appointment time, he called me in a panic and he understandably left.
Knowing what my husband has gone through to even PICK UP THAT PHONE to make that appointment, I am appalled at how he has been treated and merely dismissed. His time is just as important but the bigger issue here is a man who has finally taken steps to better himself and try counseling for the first time in his life. As someone who is a firm believer in therapy and has been involved for more than 30 years… I am livid!
