Kristin is the sole owner of New Hope Counseling Center located at 3311 S. Packerland Dr., Ste A, in DePere, WI 54115. She opened the clinic in December of 2006. Kristin graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 1992 with a Master’s degree in Community Counseling. She received a National Counselor Certification in October of 1997, a License as a Professional Counselor in September of 1998 and Board Certification in Professional Counseling in August 2007. She was a Certified Employee Assistance Professional from 1997 to 2013. In September 2005, the North Central EAPA Chapter presented her with a Pioneer Award.

Kristin has over 20 years of combined experience as a Mental Health Counselor, Certified Employee Assistance Professional and Outplacement Consultant. Kristin’s background consists of counseling individuals, couples and families.

Her counseling specialties include but not limited to:

-- Individual counseling for people experiencing depression, anxiety and mood disorders (bi-polar)

-- Couples and Marriage based counseling

-- Christian based counseling

--Adjustment Issues, such as, divorce or job loss

-- Individual and Family counseling with teenagers (13 and older) and their families specifically teens dealing with stress, attention and hyperactivity issues, low self esteem, depression and anxiety

-- Grief and Bereavement counseling for individuals and families who have experienced a death of a loved one including suicide

-- Trauma, Post-traumatic stress and Childhood (emotional, physical and/or sexual) Abuse

-- Women’s issues including childhood abuse, low self esteem and family of origin issues

Kristin has extensive experience in facilitating Critical Incident Stress Debriefings and performing On-site Trainings on various topics. She is an active provider for the Crisis Care Network. In addition, she is familiar with local community resources if, for example, a support group is recommended.

Regarding her clinical treatment approach, she utilizes the most beneficial mode of treatment that best meets the needs of her clientele. A few treatment modalities include: Brief-Solution based counseling, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, Experiential (Gestalt) based therapy, Interpersonal therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Crisis/Trauma Intervention, and Christian/Spiritual based therapy, if requested.

Kristin’s hours are very accommodating. She works in the evenings generally Monday through Thursday and has appointments available upon request on Friday and Saturday.
