About
Metropolitan Medical Laboratory, PLC and Quad Cities Pathologists, LLC have been strong community leaders since 1914. Dr. Frederick H. Lamb established his practice of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology serving hospitals in Davenport, Iowa and Rock Island County, Illinois and was instrumental in developing pathology as a medical specialty in this country. He was a founding father and president of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, a founding fellow of the College of American Pathologists, and an original trustee and vice-president of the American Board of Pathology.
Today, Metropolitan Medical Laboratory is focused on bringing our community the very best in laboratory medicine, and is an integral component of a very strong local health network. Our Patient Service Centers are located conveniently throughout the Quad Cities area, to include our sites in Silvis, Illinois and Bettendorf, Iowa and our newest in Northwest Davenport and on John Deere Road Moline. Most recently, we have expanded our chemistry, immunology, hematology, and cytology departments with new state-of-the-art instrumentation. This investment represents some of the best technology available today.
Supporting this state-of-the-art environment are Board Certified Pathologists specializing in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Their skill level includes fellowship training and published research. Over 400 employees are responsible for day-to-day operations. More than 98% of all tests are performed locally, bringing our clients and patients better turn-around times for faster diagnosis from their physician. A fleet of 35 vehicles transports specimens and supplies over one million miles a year.
