Please do not use this vet. Unfortunately in our small town of Julian he is the only option. He does not listen to his customers, he recommends procedures that are not needed or will not help, he overcharges and is rude to customers when they have questions.

I recently had a situation and I called to speak to Dr. Laporte about it. He would not take my calls. When I finally reached him on his cell phone he said he was too busy to talk to me. I wrote a yelp review at that time and the next day I received a call from his office manage. He wanted to refund my money and he told me he would look into the procedures at the Julian office. To get my money back he requested I remove the yelp review. I explained that the review was more important to me than the money because I did not want anyone else to go through what we went through. Our animal is now dead and the money would not change that. That frustrated him and he said that he would find a way to get my yelp review removed....and he did.

Please if you live in Julian - travel to Ramona to find a vet. There are great vets in Ramona and the extra distance is worth the health of your pet.
