So, today I went to Hawkins Family Chiropractic. Definitely 5 stars. Many in the industry treat the checkbook but he treats the patient. I asked him, "How often do I need to come in?" This honest man's answer was that it would depend on how my body responds and we will find out in the next few days. This is an honest man! He easily could have said twice a week...Further, in the past when I have gone to chiropractors the first visit was spent getting and going over xrays. He didn't even need xrays to know exactly where I hurt. This was nothing short of AMAZING. I actually said to him, "This was like magic". My neck has hurt since I was a kid. It's always in pain and has been for years. I just came to accept it as my reality. He pulled my neck and there was a series of pops like popcorn and a feeling of such release like a bunch of steam had been let out. I've been having headaches just about every day. I had a headache when I went it and it went away. He also released my sinuses which was amazing and I've never had a chiropractor do that before. The lower back of my head has been very sensitive to touch. The sensitivity is gone. The relief I felt when he was working on my hips was mind blowing. When you go to traditional doctors and they just send you in for diagnosis but no real TREATMENT and healing it starts to feel overwhelming and you eventually just swallow the pain as a reality and try to move on. Eventually it really starts to wear on you and permeate you. I describe physical pain as like a constant second conversation. You are always aware. You don't just sleep...you wake up all night because of the pain. You don't just talk...at the same time you try to keep a conversation your body is screaming about the pain. It becomes the focus of your life whether or not you want it to. I am so thankful to this man and this man's life work. Even if the pain returns...at least it is gone for today. So what feels better? I have felt this state of "fog". I feel like my thinking is clearer. My neck feels dramatically different. For the first time in 3 years my hips are not hurting. My lower back feels so much better. My sinuses are clearer. My headache is gone! BTW I have been to other chiropractors before. My experience was nothing like this man! With the other two the experience was kind of "well that was ok...I think it MAY feel better?" This was so significantly different....he has a real gift. He just seemed to intuitively know where I felt pain and exactly what to do...My kids came to the appointment with me and he must be used to it because he had toys waiting for them and talked to them and made them feel comfortable. He actually said he was used to people bringing their kids in and that made me feel at ease. He was upbeat, friendly, and was just a real nice guy. I felt like I'd been going to him my whole life because he was just so easy going and joking. What a great experience!
