As a practitioner basing philosophy of psychotherapy on the interaction of the mind, body, and spirit, Dr. Wolever can, and where applicable, will work not only with his client individually, but encourage that client to join him in groups sessions, where similarities and differences can be explored to address the client's situation and circumstances. The doctor appreciates that labels may be more harmful than good in presenting a patient with a diagnosis, so he'll work with his patient using multiple tools, including meditation techniques, hypnosis, and with permission, interaction with other of his clients healthcare providers to determine if mental health can be enhanced with improved nutrition, exercise, and in extreme circumstances, pharmaceutical intervention (though if he can, he tries to keep patients from chemistry, or work to get them off of medications, but for situations where even he will regret, pharmaceuticals are required).

Dr. Wolever is not afraid to admit that despite his education, practical clinical experience, he doesn't have all the answers and will, as would benefit his client, enlist colleagues and specialists in the growing boutique areas of psychology practices, to see his client has the best available resources before them. Sometimes this may call for hospitalizations, specialized group programs he doesn't participate in (farms his patient out, to a degree), these usually being technique oriented task builders for the patients cognitive skill sets.

Where welcomed, Dr. Wolever will insert himself into his patient's wellness goals, by permission and actively teaming with a client's primary physician, psychiatrist (if applies), nutritionist, even physical trainers, if he can see the "teamwork," with patient as captain, most beneficial. (Please note: this review based on Dr. Wolever's private practice and before he began his boutique specialization with Adolescent Eating Disorders - Although it is imagined he would, in individual practice, not have deviated from what worked well for him at Duke and Health Psychology Associates, Inc.,).

This review is meant to be a rave, but only four stars have been rewarded, so that Dr. Wolever remembers that he doesn't know it all, do it all perfectly and thus does subsequently continue to not only teach other therapists, but attend seminars and conferences, continuing his own education, as long as he remains in active practice. No one is perfect and Dr. Wolever is among those professionals that appreciates reminding.
